Earlier today Zagat released its venerable New York City restaurant guide for 2017.
This year, for the first time in Zagat’s 37-year history, the 1 – 30 rating system was replaced by rankings that go from 1.0 to 5.0, with decimals, and the results are based on the views of 30,961 hungry New Yorkers.
Here are Zagat’s top 10 restaurants in New York City:

A Frenched Niman Ranch Lamb Chop is seasoned with salt, pepper and thyme leaves then pan roasted to medium rare (unless ordered otherwise). The lamb is then topped with a tomato based sauce of shiitake and cremini mushrooms that is made with garlic, olive oil, onions and fennel that once cooked resembles traditional Italian bolognese sauce. The chop is served with broccoli rabe that has been sautéed in olive oil with chili flakes and is garnished with grated pecorino cheese and a chili oil flavored with smoked paprika. #JeanGeorges
