Is coach-jumper Tom Cruise moving into this Scientology penthouse?

Rumors, rumors, rumors. There are lots of rumors — and documented evidence! — regarding the nefarious acts of the Church of Scientology. The latest rumor involving the much-criticized Hollywood cult involves clear water and penthouse views, rather than illegal detention centers.

Tom Cruise, who is basically the church’s second most powerful figure, is said to be moving into a luxury penthouse owned by the Church of Scientology in its home base of Clearwater, Fla., according to Underground Bunker blogger Tony Ortega.

Ortega reports that Scientologist developer Moises Agami has submitted plans for a ten-story condo building in Clearwater that would transform the structure’s top two floors.

Those floors are currently five separate condo units and a rooftop bar. But the new plans will create a mansion with a private building entrance, a massive nine-car private garage, and even a car elevator.

The abode will also feature a private “air bridge,” recreation area, a pool and an entire room dedicated to a flight simulator, Ortega claims the documents show.

Scientology’s “worldwide spiritual headquarters” is on the same street in Clearwater.

Why Cruise? The church has a history of showering the actor with lavish gifts, including a English mansion. And bringing Cruise to the campus would definitely help draw interest from the wealthy donors the struggling cult is desperate to attract as membership dwindles around the world.  Still, it’s far from confirmed.
