Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may have only just announced their intention to separate from each other this September, but the former couple has been trying to part with their New Orleans home in the French Quarter since November last year. Finally, according to the AP, they are successful: the home sold last week for $4.9 million, significantly less than its original price of $5.65 million.
According to the listing, the 7,645-square-foot home was built in 1866 and has five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The couple bought the house in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina for $3.5 million. Listing agent Nina Killeen told the AP: “It sold for a very fair price. It’s a good deal for both parties. They’re happy with the outcome.”
Jonah Hill stayed in the house for four months while he was filming “Moneyball,” and told Jon Stewart in 2011 that tour groups used to visit to try to get a glimpse of Pitt and Jolie. “I would go home every day from work and there’d be a tour outside and they’d be freaking out, and then I’d get out of the car, and you could hear a collective audible sigh of annoyance when it wasn’t Brad Pitt!” [AP]
