The restaurateur Michael Chow and his wife Eva Chun have just snapped up a penthouse apartment on the Brooklyn waterfront for $5.8 million, city records show.
The 2,567-square-foot duplex apartment at 1 John Street, is one of six penthouses and 42 units in the newly-built DUMBO building. It comes with three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a master bath with hand-clipped stone mosaic floors, 10-foot-high ceilings, oversized windows, wide-plank flooring, views of the Manhattan skyline, a private courtyard and a rooftop terrace.
Naturally, the kitchen sounds pretty swanky too, and features a large island with a stone counter, a wall of integrated Italian cabinetry, Gaggenau appliances and a wine fridge.
Chow is the co-founder and owner of the celebrity hotspot Mr. Chow, a chain of restaurants which started in London in 1968 and expanded to New York, Las Vegas, Miami, Malibu, and Beverly Hills. In New York City, Mr. Chow has locations in Tribeca and Midtown.
Karen Heyman and Alan Heyman of Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing.
