The former West Village home of playwright Arthur Laurents has hit the market asking $12 million. The townhouse at 9 Saint Luke’s place was previously renting for $18,000 per month, according to real estate information website StreetEasy.

Laurents, the scribe behind classics such as West Side Story, lived until 2006 in the 1860’s townhouse on Saint Lukes Place, a street which was once home to Robert De Niro, according to Curbed. The townhouse has four bedrooms and five bathrooms, according to StreetEasy. [Curbed]  – Hiten Samtani
