Bergdorf Goodman’s holiday windows are here! Take a peek

Forget Rockefeller Center’s tree; the real first sign of Christmas in the city are the windows at Bergdorf Goodman’s. And now, they are up!

This year’s theme is “Destination Extraordinary,” which sounds promising. The windows took six months to make and they depict “lush locals, unexpected landscapes and verdant gardens.”

David Hoey, Senior Director of Visual Presentation at the store said in statement that his design was inspired by paintings by Henri Rousseau and trips to the American Museum of Natural History, saying the windows are like “magical realist versions of natural history museum dioramas.”

Based on the Instagram pics, the end result is pretty spectacular and definitely worth fighting with tourists on Fifth Avenue to check out IRL. Better hurry though; they’ll be up through January 2nd.
