At this point, it’s well-established that the Obamas are leasing a castle-like home in D.C. when Barack finishes his presidency in January. They’re planning to be there until their younger daughter, Sasha, finishes high school.
But according to the New York Post, that mansion is not the only property the First Family will be living in during their post-presidential life. They are also reportedly going to be buying homes in Rancho Mirage, California, where President Gerald Ford also retired, and in Barack’s childhood state of Hawaii.
There are no details about the addresses of these homes, but the Post does note that interior designer Michael S. Smith will be designing the interiors for both of them. He has also designed their White House space.
We can imagine that whatever the homes end up looking like, they’re going to be a lot more tasteful than whatever Trump’s planning to do to the White House. [NYP]
