Art Basel officially started today (though things have been happening down there all week). And among the many artworks on view are two new pieces by — of all places — Louis Vuitton.
The collection is from Objets Nomades and is currently on display in the Louis Vuitton Boutique in Miami’s Design District. One of the items, the Blossom Stool, was inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic petal monogram pattern and features a seat made of wood and leather. It also comes in a metallic gilded brass for those who are more into opulence.
The Fur Cocoon was designed by brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana and is the chair to beat. It’s made of vacuum-molded fiberglass reinforced with resin and is covered in lambskin because why not? The Blossom Stool and Fur Cocoon will be on display until December 4th, and are available for purchase during Art Basel. Not surprisingly, the prices are only available upon request. They will also be sold in the Louis Vuitton Boutique in Miami through January. [Observer]
