Well if this isn’t the ole switcheroo, we don’t know what is. The famed Out Hotel — the first gay consumer-focused resort — was recently bought out by Merchant’s Hospitality for $40 million, according to DNAinfo.

Instead of boasting all its LGBT goodness, the space will soon attract the opposite clientele.  After undergoing an estimated $5-$6 million renovation, the West 42nd Street property will house The Playboy Supper Club in its 14,000-square-foot nightclub area. It will feature a cocktail bar, a game room and a dining space, which will offer a $45 “Hef Burger” — a wagyu beef burger served with truffle ketchup, “skinny fries” and a glass of bubbly.

“Part of the brilliance of Playboy is that their brand is really special,” Cachet president of operations Meredith Gelacek told Community Board 4’s Business Licenses and Permits committee. “We will have [Playboy] Bunnies, but the reality is we are going to have a world-class restaurant, and we are going to serve incredible food, [and] it’s going to be incredible service,” she added.
