The 1st Antarctic Biennale’s ship is set to sail

For collectors and patrons of the arts, the festival scene can seem like an endless montage of colors and dollar signs. But if your attention can stand one more event, make it this one.

The Antarctic Biennale is a first of its kind art experiment that will bring together international artists, visionaries, and scientists for a 12-day voyage aboard the Akademik Ioffe research ship. And now the official date of departure has been set for March 15.

Approximately 100 artists, architects, researchers, visionaries and philosophers will join the floating festival for 12 days as it makes stops on islands of the Antarctic Archipelago. The art and videos created on the journey will then be made available to the public.
