LLNYC's look at listings:

The son of pop artist extraordinaire Roy Lichtenstein has just listed his own work of art — his $25 million townhouse.

Mitchell Lichtenstein and his husband, Vincent Sanchez bought the 5,616-square-foot house in the Greenwich Village Historic District for $2.5 million in 1997, city records show. According to the New York Times, the pair restored the four-story building, kept many of its original details and “live quietly with their Italian greyhound, Puppet, in what they have concluded is more space than they need.”

Built in 1847, the home has not been on the market publicly for the entirety of its 170-year history. The listing describes it as “the definitive home for the enthusiastic historian, the passionate art collector, or the visionary artist.”

Brokers Vals Osborne, Lee Ann Jaffee and Steven A Sumser of Stribling are handling the sale of the property, which comes with four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, wood-burning fireplaces, a south-facing garden, a set-back terrace and lots of Lichtenstein pieces that are not included in the sale.
