LLNYC's look at listings:
A spectacular, sprawling 30-foot-wide townhouse at 128 East 73rd Street has just hit the market for $27 million -- $15 million less than it was asking when it first hit the market one year ago.
It was home to the late Bernard and Josephine Chaus, founders of a women’s fashion firm Bernard Chaus.
The townhouse, with Peter Marino-designed interiors, comes with a gated entry, seven bedrooms, two kitchens, two staff rooms, a wood-paneled library, period moldings and a basement gym.
When the home was first listed in February last year it was asking a whopping $42 million.
The Chaus' reportedly purchased the home for an unknown sum in 1987. Bernard died in 1991, leaving Josephine to become one of the first female CEOs of a public company. Josephine died in 2015.
Serena Boardman of Sotheby's International Realty has the listing.
