LLNYC's look at listings:
Built in 1914 and designed by the architect Herbert M. Baer, the townhouse that sits at 132 East 70th Street was originally owned by Julius Goldman, the son of Marcus Goldman, one of the founders of Goldman Sachs.
Now known -- rather unoriginally -- as the Julius Goldman Building, the house went on serve as The Abbey Funeral Home, and today the townhouse currently appears to be home to Travel Dynamics International, an "operator of high-caliber educational programs aboard small cruise ships."
According to city records, it's owned by the anonymous 132 East 70th St. Realty, LLC, and it comes with an arched foyer, a marble entry with an original marble fireplace and vaulted ceiling, a grand stair hall, and original details galore.
The six bedroom spread has just been on the receiving end of a $4 million price cut; it was previously asking $28.5 million.
Karen Kelley of Corcoran has the listing.
