LLNYC's look at listings:
Hilary Swank’s former West Village townhouse sure is swanky. The home at 33 Charles Street just hit the market asking $12 million, per the New York Post.
The two-time Oscar winner and her ex-hubby Chad Lowe bought the home in 2002 for $3.9 million under the Steven Blatt and Varna trusts. The couple divorced in 2007, and the home went on the market in 2006 for $8.1 million. It eventually sold in 2007 for $7 million to Clyde Anderson, the CEO and owner of his family’s bookstore chain, Books-A-Million.
According to the listing, with Robert Browne, Chris Kann and Jennifer Ireland Kubis of Corcoran, Anderson redid the systems in the house, adding a new kitchen with a gas fireplace, central air conditioning and new windows. The 3,336-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a beautiful backyard garden.
Swank now owns a (slightly smaller) apartment in the same neighborhood, in the Superior Ink Building on West 12th Street, and has homes in Los Angeles and Paris. -- Isabel Schwab
