LLNYC's look at listings:
Formerly The Church Of The Sacred Heart Of Jesus, the building at 416 West 51st Street was the headquarters of the Christian Brothers from 1953 until 2011. Their main role was to keep neighborhood youth out of trouble, reports 6sqft. But in 2011 they sold their HQ-- LLNYC can't help but wonder if all the troubled youths in the neighborhood were replaced with gay men -- and now the building is the townhouse of our dreams.
It looks as though the home's new owners gut renovated the place, and now there's double height ceilings, a duplex master suite, a private garden and terraces, and architecturally exciting features galore like the impressive wood-burning fireplace.
The owners paid a little over $3 million for the spread back in 2011, and the home has since tried the market a couple of times. In 2016 it asked for $15 million, then later that year $14 million.
