LLNYC's look at listings:
"Six years in the making, this loft is the result of meticulous planning and flawless execution converging to build more than a home. It's a sanctuary," reads the listing text for the four-bedroom Soho penthouse that recently hit the market asking almost $30 million.
The listing continues in a similar fashion, "friends and contemporaries will marvel at the unprecedented level of finish displayed in this home, from the collector level of art decorating the walls to the nuanced beauty found in even the most minor design elements."
Beyond its flamboyant description, the 7,500-square-foot spread comes with a gourmet chef's kitchen with custom-poured resin walls imported from England, a library, stained oak floors, and silk carpets.
The sellers are finance guy Jon Venetos and his wife Ashely. According to the Wall Street Journal, the couple combined two units to create the spread, the first they purchased in 2010 for $4.5 million, then in 2012 bought the floor above for $4.75 million and added the rooftop terrace.
